Overall I am satisfied with this bike rack for my road bike after using it for 2 years. But today the stem just burst out of nowhere and my phone flew onto the sidewalk. Other reviewers who gave the mount a 1 had the exact same issue. I was lucky the phone didn't get hurt because it was still attached to the top of the mount and I also have a phone case (and the car didn't move until I got it). I've requested a new barrel. The strips may also need to be replaced after a while.
