Poorly made, inaccurate pump

Like many others, the pressure gauge does not work. Even before plugging it in, it reads 2psi. This makes it difficult to inflate the kayak to the required pressure as I don't know if the gauge is set to 2psi. 4 is well above or below the true 2psi. Customs service. The construction is also very fiddly. It feels like it will break after very little use. A very disappointing product. Luckily I have a body glove pump that is much better made and more accurate and I can use it!

Including Advanced Elements kayak spring valve adapter!

I bought an open box/return to customer REI Advanced Elements AdvancedFrame AE1012 kayak but it was missing the pump and spring valve adapter. REI stated that the customer returned it because they couldn't figure out how to inflate it. Needless to say, after doing my research I found a manufacturer branded pump hoping it would have an adapter. need it. I also include photos of the inflation and deflation side and the pressure gauge. Hope this all helps!

  • nice item

  • low repairability

Valve OK, extra adapter needed to read pressure

I bought this pump and used it to inflate my Advanced Elements Airfusion Elite kayak this weekend. It worked great to inflate the airbags but the gauge didn't show anything. I bought a model with a pressure gauge because the maximum pressure on the kayak is quite low and I was afraid of too much pressure. The kayak was quite expensive (by my standards) and I didn't want to accidentally damage it. So I contacted Advanced Elements (866-262-9076) and they told me the Airfusion Elite's Boston…

Broke after two weeks. bad design.

Bought this pump with our AE 1007 kayak for our trip to Hawaii. After 2 weeks of use, the pump broke at the junction of the shaft and T-handle. I wish I had bought a bellows foot pump instead of this pump. Before the handle broke, the pump worked as expected. He quickly inflated the raft, but once you start building pressure, a double-acting pump is not your friend. You will work against the pressure as you level up. I have used foot pumps on other rafts for years and thought it would be…

Ideal pump for inflatable adventure kayaks

Review in 6 months. This pump works exactly as described. It's light, strong and inflates my Advanced Elements convertible tandem kayak quickly. I use it on all rides in case I get a flat tire or need to add air. I'm happy to report that after 15 trips, none of the scenarios have repeated themselves. Features: 1. The pressure gauge works well and appears to be accurate. 2. The double pumping action is reliable and smooth, without hesitation. 3. Legs provide stability when pumping. 4. The tube…

Problem with Halkey-Roberts adapter (?)

Good news, fairly well made at a good price seems good value for money. But there were many problems with the Halkey-Roberts valve adapter. This is the inflatable valve used in many inflatable kayaks, SUPBs, etc. In my case, it was the Aquagluide Deschutes 110 kayak. When I disconnected the inflation adapter from the kayak, the valve stayed open and I lost most of the air. I repeated this process half a dozen times until (seemingly by accident) the valve closed properly and I was on my way. Of…

Much more than in the photo.

I have this for final inflation of a personal pontoon boat and to carry around on the boat. I use a small electric pump for 90% of the inflation process but have learned that a hand pump is needed to inflate the pontoons to their final pressure and should be handy on the water. What I use it for, all it takes is a small hand pump. I looked at K-Pumps but the price put me off. The selling point for me was the air pressure sensor. I didn't want to lug around two tools, a pump and a pressure…
