🚀 AEM 22-483P: Enhance Performance with Polished Short Ram Intake System Review

The AEM air intake didn't do much for my automotive performance. The installation was more complicated than advertised, and it didn't make a noticeable difference in my emissions. On the bright side, the shiny polished finish looks great under the hood. Unfortunately, the lack of improvement in performance makes this system not worth the investment.

I have 05 mtx and AEM will fit if you pay attention to two things: 1. You will need about 1/4 inch washers/spacers as the pipe mount will attach where the clutch cable mount goes. with atx (no clutch) that's no problem. But if you have mtx you end up with a 1/4" gap and the prop could possibly come loose unless you add some spacers2 there. The inlet pipe is about 0.2" smaller than the standard one Inlet hose where they converge. I had to wrap the metal tube with weft tape to secure them…

I installed this on my 2007 Mazda 6s. They come with very clear instructions, although the 2007 version is slightly different. There are 3 clips instead of 2 to remove the vacuum hose from the airbox and this hose goes to the top of the engine cover (closest to the windshield). Be very careful when removing these clamps as the other hose they attach to is part of the cooling system and by pulling on the hose a bit to figure out where it ends I got the plastic T -Piece broken that seems to break
