Review on πŸš€ AEM 22-483P: Enhance Performance with Polished Short Ram Intake System by Desmin Dickerson

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Also fits 2007, no CEL

I installed this on my 2007 Mazda 6s. They come with very clear instructions, although the 2007 version is slightly different. There are 3 clips instead of 2 to remove the vacuum hose from the airbox and this hose goes to the top of the engine cover (closest to the windshield). Be very careful when removing these clamps as the other hose they attach to is part of the cooling system and by pulling on the hose a bit to figure out where it ends I got the plastic T -Piece broken that seems to break easily. . A trip to the dealer and $40 later and things got better; I just had to swap it out and reconnect the hoses. Don't be afraid to do it yourself. With simple tools, this takes about an hour or two. (screwdriver and basic socket set) I do feel a slight difference in horsepower but mostly in throttle response. I could have been more efficient, but I didn't notice because it sounds cool when you hit the gas. :) The extra engine noise is moderate unless you're in the 5000rpm range or so. Sounds meaner, but not disgusting. I've also been driving it daily for the last two weeks and the only CEL I got was due to a low coolant level after a failed assembly and this was rectified by simply filling and "burping" the radiator. Buy it now if you've even thought about it. You will not be disappointed. Given Revain's price, it was difficult to justify CAI's double price. Oh, and you don't have to keep buying $20 air filters.
