Description of ๐ŸŽ Equine Aerosol Chamber for Horse Inhalers - AEROHIPPUS: Universal Compatibility and Suitable for All Horse Sizes

The AEROHIPPUS* Equine Aerosol Chamber allows your horse to breathe normally while using an inhaler. Low-resistance valve releases inhaler contents as horses inhale; FLOW-VU indicator tracks inhalation. Works with all aerosol inhalers recommended by veterinarians for horses' bronchitis, wheezing, etc. Delivers inhaler contents directly to the lungs, requiring a lower dose with fewer side effects. Fits all horses, from foals to warmbloods; use over only one nostril so horses can breathe normally.

Easy peasy at other sports

Have a horse that flinches and it makes it easy to use an inhaler on him. The best thing is the valve that shows when you're inhaling and exhaling to make sure you're getting your medication.

  • Sleek design

Good product for other sports

This product is very easy to use. It's soft and flexible so it fits my horse's nostril well and is easy to keep in place. There is a small valve that keeps the medication in the chamber until the horse inhales. My horse is happy, so I'm happy. It works well, so it's a win-win situation.

Works as advertised

My horse is no longer bothered by CI noise but he doesn't like the thing over his nose anymore. She's a good horse and tolerates anything I do to her, but she wants to go. I think she's just tired of me trying to court her. She just wants to go back to the other horses, but she has to stay in the yard on grass and alfalfa pellets.

Pros
  • Tested for one year

I'm so glad I tried this simple solution!

This product works like a charm. My horse has a cough and I give him an Ilan inhaler before riding. It fits snugly on a horse sized nostril and the transparent design makes it easy to see how many breaths your horse is taking. It didn't even startle him when I held it up to his nose. I have found that one does not have to plug the opposite nostril as some believe.

Pros
  • Good product for the price
Cons
  • Some problems

Works great on my mare!

Aerohippus for horses works very well on my filly. She got used to that pretty quickly. It's easy to "time" the hit when she starts inhaling. The device seems solid enough to last for a while - the soft rubber covering the nose is its only weak point - but no issues so far. I've been using this thing daily for a couple of weeks and taken a few hundred hits and it's still working fine. My "foal" is a 14-year-old paint horse mare with asthma.

Does not work for miniature horses.

This is a great product but I am giving it 3 stars because it is not suitable for a miniature horse. I returned it and bought a large Aero Dawg instead. The large Aero Dawg fits perfectly into the Mini's single nostril and the aerosol chamber is the size of a horse. The instructions say to only cover one nostril, so this will not work on a miniature horse as the mask is too big to seal the mini nostril.

Pros
  • Best in niche
Cons
  • unreliable

Works great for sport

I have used it on my horse. I checked first to make sure she wasn't panicking as I emptied the inhaler next to her. I kept her in sleepers and tried it on her face a few times to make sure she wasn't reacting. When I first used it as intended, she just shuddered a little. But getting her to use the airbag was relatively easy. She hasn't used it in months so we may have to start over next spring but it's a great product and we love it.

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Has problems

Jump to specific views!

As a respiratory therapist I have access to human sized/shaped mask airbags but I will still choose this product. The shape of the mask ensures good contact with the nostrils without forcing the mask into the horse's nose. My horse tolerates this mask very well. The only downside is that the transparent valve can get a little sticky from condensation in winter. However, the horse's breath is still able to mobilize it. I also wish it was more accessible!

It does what it says on the tin

This camera is easy to use, won't spook even the most wary horse (although it does require some training) and seems to do a good job of inhaling medication. What I didn't understand at first is that the medicine chamber stays closed at the top until the horse breathes through the cone, so there is no need to squeeze the canister while it's over the horse's nostril. That makes all the difference for my horse. He's starting to realize that the drug is helping him, so I suspect that over time this

  • It's amazing
