Color will fade within two months with moderate use (once morning for coffee/tea). The new kettle smells horribly of chemicals when boiling water. Despite the description to the contrary, the handle dissipates heat and gets very hot, which can only be contained with a kitchen glove. I will avoid this company in the future.

Thought it was the same size as my old kettle but it was smaller. The switch to open the spout was a different thing - I thought it was similar to my old one where it was spring loaded and you held the switch to pour and it closed automatically. This one doesn't close automatically - you have to close it by pushing the switch up from the bottom. I liked the auto close better. But it does the job, so it will do the job.

I'm surprised this kettle is even being sold. I liked the color and was looking forward to the whistling kettle, unlike my old kettle which often dried up before I even thought to turn it off. The first problem was the filling. The handle is tight so I couldn't move it out of the way to fill from the water dispenser. Maybe it's normal but I got used to this feature on my previous 30 year old kettle. The second problem was the green trim. It got hot and stank if I didn't hold the flame lower…
