Enhanced AIRHEAD SUP Anchoring Kit Review

Fantastic for SUP surfing, prevents our boards from drifting when we find the sweet spot. At 1.5 pounds, this is the lightest I could find and also the best price. The carry case keeps it together until you need it and takes up minimal space. Very happy with this purchase.

We use it on our SUPs but successfully anchored 2 SUPs and 2 kayaks in a slow current today. Type felt sorry for everyone else floating in the shallows. 4 stars because it needs 10ft more length and a rotating carabiner, but it's easy enough to DIY. One of the best accessories for our SUPs.

Happy with the paddleboard anchor to relax near the shore and lay down all morning after paddling, I only remember the sunscreen. My board didn't move an iota the first time I anchored a fixed buoy to test its effectiveness. I haven't tried it on the beach on days with very strong waves, but even if it's effective I wouldn't recommend it.

This anchor performed well last summer. I have used it many times with my 12ft fishing kayak. This worked better than I expected as I saw some reviews that said it wouldn't hold their kayak in place but it does hold mine every time which made it a pleasure to fish downwind. I use this kit with the driver roller and float so I can take it off the kayak and go back and grab the anchor if I get stuck without losing it.

It held up well on a windy sea but I didn't use it in strong currents. It folds down to a convenient size and comes in a sturdy little bag that conveniently attaches to the kayak box for storage. It's a minor thing, but I also appreciate that the smooth finish doesn't snag or scratch my yak like some of the cheaper galvanized anchors do. The only downside I found was the length of the rope. I would pay extra for the rope.
