Braking performance is great with little dust. The lube is simply thrown into the shoe box. Therefore, check that the grease does not get on the brake pads.

These pads seem to require heat to grip the rotor. So I switched to semi-metal. I mostly drive short distances at lower speeds. Let's see how it goes. At the moment I would not recommend them for city driving.

All I can say is that Akebono is the only last brand I will be buying. There is a kit for my Yukon Denali XL (these pads) and for my Mercedes C240 (not these). I have tried all brands from ceramic to standard. they are the last and leave no dust. This price is also unbeatable.

I used these on my 2004 Astro Van. I used to use "budget blocks". I often have to grind away some material to adjust them (even after squeezing the butt). These akebono are perfect. Even the mounting hardware is perfect and literally snaps onto the caliper with no issues. The pads fit perfectly without any modifications. I attached these to the front and back. I know pads can be bought cheaper but for my wife and family I trust these pads.

I bought these because they must be OEM quality. I was happy with my original pads, but after 8 years and 80,000km I decided to change the brakes. They were in good condition but as I had parts and brakes I only changed the pads. I put in Monroe pads and fifteen months later the bums were gone. I've done dozens if not hundreds of brake jobs and I'm not impressed that the rear brake pads are all metal. and as a result had to replace my rotors. Interestingly, the front brake pads were like new…
