DIY - Lighting & Power

Nearly identical to Miata's factory antenna. Just cut a thin stick and add some black paint. Can't tell the difference. Actually, I think they did.

Perfect replacement antenna

Antenna fits my 2008 MX5 perfectly. I pick up all my stations, so no loss of sound quality. I'll buy a second one in case someone with an old MX5 steals it.

Pros
  • Heavy duty
Cons
  • Expensive

Excellent value for money and quality!

Perfect fit and no damage to the radio signal. I did a direct comparison with a friend who owns The Stubby and his radio struggled to get a clear signal with the exception of a few local stations.

Pros
  • Excellent workmanship
Cons
  • Functionality

Better than OEM for spare parts

Better reception than OEM with better looks. Fully recommended. I choose this option because the other, more expensive and popular option has a company logo on it and I don't want to do free advertising.

Pros
  • Dope 🔥

Works fine for me - lighting and electrical

I recently bought a 2007 Miata MX5 and the stock antenna was in poor condition. The rubber base was crumbling and the top of the antenna was also in poor condition. I ordered a short 5 inch aluminum alloy antenna and on a recent trip to the Blue Ridge/Smoky Mountains region of North Georgia I had no problem finding radio stations to listen to.

Looks much better - lighting and power

The Miata antenna is gaudy and doesn't match the car at all. This little chunky Hart looks a lot better. I never listen to the radio so I have no idea how well it works compared to the original, but around town the radio still works with it. So I can't comment on features beyond the bare minimum, but aesthetically it's great.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly

To replace a cracked factory antenna. This antenna fits my MX5 well. Installed in a minute and looks great. Just prior to replacement my factory antenna was receiving 29 VHF stations and this short antenna was receiving 19. I suspect it is due to the physics of radio waves and the size of the antenna. Yes, it picks up fewer radio stations - but I don't use a radio - and that short antenna looks better and feels more reliable. i will keep it

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket

Looks better than factory!

While the factory antenna on my 2019 MX-5 Roadster didn't bother me visually, it's hard to go without a $17 mod. Now that I've installed it, the visual improvement is REALLY noticeable! My car is pearl white with an optional brown top, and with the top down this shorty completes a look I didn't know I wanted. I think with a darker exterior color the difference won't be that big. As a bonus, I was pleasantly surprised at its quality and weight when I took it out of the box and also saw the…

Pros
  • Rugged construction
Cons
  • No automatic
