Every replacement filter of this type I have bought from this manufacturer emits a strange odor after many months of first use. I even contacted the manufacturer directly and got a replacement from them with the same problem.

Item arrived damaged. I've just opened the box as the filter hasn't needed to be changed yet and I found a huge hole on the black side and small black balls spilled into the box and then onto my floor. The top was also wrinkled, and the Velcro that was supposed to hold the thin black, washable portion of the filter was partially torn from the rest of the filter. So it's completely useless.

If you have an Alen air purifier and need a replacement filter, BUY IT NOW! air and filter all impurities, stick to trusted and trusted brands. Alain stands behind all of their products and their customer service is 5 star. Don't skimp to save a few bucks and add VOCs to the air with cheaper filters.

I bought a replacement filter for my Alen BreatheSmart in early January 2021 with no problems at the same price as a year earlier. Two months later I see the filter prices have gone up $50 each. Not only that, last year when the California wildfires began, BreatheSmart's price rose by over $100 overnight. When I tried to ask why and the question got flagged and hidden. This is a great product, but the prices for filters and BreatheSmart fluctuate all the time. Not worth sudden price changes

It's hard to give this one star because I love my Alen air purifier, but I chose their most expensive odor filter after I started having mold/bad odor, starting to get emotional with the unit, and filled the room very disappointed. Bought an Alen Air 45i air filter. I use this machine to provide clean air for myself and my family. I've been exposed to toxic mold and know the importance of very clean air.
