The T-Ranasourous Whistle comes with clear plastic around the base. The plastic was clear and we didn't notice it until we boiled the water. At this point the plastic has melted into the base of the whistle and now we can no longer use it. Could you send a new pipe. Thank you Keith Clayton.

Great design when looks matter most. But functional, bad design. The handle is NOT heat resistant (although it looks like it's wrapped around) and to make matters worse the whistle melted the first time I used it even though it only blew for 20 seconds! I will be back as I need a really working kettle.

I ordered an Alessi kettle based on their reputation for quality and good previous purchases. What a disappointment to find the kettle's thin stainless steel base. But worse was the cheap plastic whistle. A bit of a joke as she will almost break just looking at them. And it didn't whistle at all! A real disappointment and shame, it has the Alessi branding.

Kettle received in January. I was waiting for the whistle tonight while making tea. I'm counting on the whistle to let me know the water's ready. I was busy doing something and found the whistle hadn't sounded yet so I went and checked and the whistle was completely melted and the glass on top of the lid was completely melted. TAAAAAAA disappointed as I love Alessi products and paid $200 for this kettle.

I searched for a month, finally I went to tea with Rex. It's bizarre, I've been looking for this. I've never paid more than a hundred dollars for a teapot, the only thing is that steam not only comes out of the PLASTIC tea rex, but also out of the back of the lid. I personally thought Rex tee was metallic - I've read that it looks metallic and it is. Kettles I've had for as little as twenty bucks in the past steamed where it should. This item was beautiful and really was the only reason I was willing to pay that much for a kettle. But, my god, it doesn't work well for its intended purpose. If you keep this short the dragon spout cap is very difficult to get down the spout to the point where you feel like you have to bend the spout to make it wider which means it is also very difficult to get out, ESPECIALLY when vaping.
