Ideal for beginners and advanced.

Update. I've been using this product for over a year now and it's still working great. I'm cold in number 2 and have made over a dozen casts out of a bag. Again this depends on how advanced your designs are as my feet and hands are baby. I love it just as much as when I first bought it. I wanted to make casts of our newborn son's feet while he is growing up in his first year and it worked out well! The only tip I would recommend is to be sure to dip the body part in and pull it out and then put

Pros
  • Captures detail better than other alginates and offers a more accurate reproduction of the original.
Cons
  • Nothing.

Girl Scout Handprints - Can cast 9 x 32 ounce deli containers

I used this to make handprints for the Girl Scout Troop 3rd Grade ( 8-9 years old). We did 8 handprints in 32 ounce plastic deli containers (Thanks from Fred Meyer, thanks!) and I have 1 print left. The containers were only 2 inches full before hands entered them. We used Paris Dap 10310 Plaster of Paris Tub Molding Material 8lb White DAP to fill them in and an 8lb can was enough with extra residue. The girls themselves mixed and stirred with minimal assistance. Tips: Moms wanted to stir this…

Pros
  • Plaster of Paris, Matrix NEO (polymer modified plaster) or smooth cast 300Q Ultra Fast Urethane Resin in a reproduction mold
Cons
  • Piggy Bank Prize

ignore opponents. This product is easy and convenient to use.

Great product for making casts of anything. I've used it to make molds for various lure models and they all came out great. I see several reviews saying the product sucks and others saying don't buy it. All I can say is that you are doing it WRONG! If you use warm water you're already screwed. Water at 80 degrees actually feels a bit cold. The warmer the water, the faster it freezes. I don't like the 50/50 mix ratio a bit, but that's my opinion. I like to add an extra ounce of water to thin it…

Pros
  • Easy mix ratio: 1 part warm water (27°C/80°F) to 1 part Alja Safe powder by volume
Cons
  • Can't remember but there was some

I will definitely do it again. with fewer air bubbles!

Great deal! My husband and I used this for the first time and we really didn't know what to expect. We followed the directions (and by that I mean both he and I read the directions aloud multiple times) and the directions seem solid. And to make sure we understood the whole process, we even watched a few YouTube videos. For the sample mold, I wanted to put a finger in a small plastic container (a small Tupperware made for ranch sauce), and we found (after re-reading the instructions) that the…

  • Ideal for one-time impressions of face, hands and other body parts
