Allison External Spin On Filter - 29539579 Multipack: Double the Protection! Review

I have made it a habit to change the transmission filter every time I change the oil. Probably not necessary, but easy to do and well insured, plus it allows checking the magnet.

A bargain compared to a retailer who is charging twice as much for the same product. Pleased with the filter that comes with the gearbox done by the dealer. Told the dealer he could do a flush if they put my filter in.

I would normally give this one 5 stars but due to a lot of fake products on Amazon lately I'm not sure I have a legitimate filter that is in the filter The one I got is different from all the ones I got before which were smooth with round holes before and the one I got this time is more like a cheese grater so far no problems with the filter.

This is a genuine Allison part and I have driven 400,000 miles on it with no problems. This particular pack of 6 came without magnets, so you may need to order them separately if the original goes missing. It's easy to install. I wish the store would change it for me, but given the per part premium plus the $175/hour labor cost with a one hour minimum, the only logical option is to replace it yourself.
