Incredible time saver!

The tool is ideal for stripping sheet metal, decorative strips and doors. With all the accessories, there are a few corners it just can't cover. love love love! The only downside is that the handle is broken, but I think the user pressed too hard. I bought another one because I can't fix furniture and doors without it!

Sharpen before use

The best part is the handle and perhaps the shape of the blades. The blades are poorly finished: the back is not flat, but the ground side is so rough and rough that it is bad at scratching the wood surface. I spent a lot of time sharpening the edge of the convex round blade with a diamond sharpener to get a smooth edge to remove the rough grinding marks. With concave shapes it becomes more difficult. As such, it may be tolerable for removing paint, but the underlying surface will be severely…

It's a miracle for removing paint on 6 panel doors

I made a fuss about removing a steel 6 panel door that had at least 8 coats of paint on it. The flat parts were bland but basic overall, but the panels themselves were a nightmare. I searched the web a bit and found that someone recommended looking for plates with contourers. Holy shit, they were right! I just sailed through the panels in under an hour (the rest of the door took about 6 hours over 2 days). I just wish I knew sooner. BTW, I ordered them on a Sunday evening and they arrived…

This is an amazing tool!

Very good concept and design! But I would still like a different size blade. There are some types of curved surfaces that are smaller than the tools provided and it takes some time to set the smallest curved blade to clean these areas, but with practice it works well. It worked well to clean the panels of a 60 year old door that had about 6 coats of paint and is now like new! Be careful when using a heat gun, the handle is made of hard rubber and/or plastic. I was lucky enough to notice the…

A great tool in many ways!

I really have a lot to say about this thing, especially the wide variety of scraper shapes it offers. I first used it on an old painted cafe chair that had lots of tricky curved spots to remove the paint including crossbars, tapered legs etc. I used it mainly with a heat gun and the result was excellent! Gave it a star because after reading other reviews I figured it could probably be damaged by a heat gun, so I wrapped the blade holder in a single layer of aluminum foil, shiny side out. The…

Well while it lasted

I'm writing this review with some disappointment. I enjoyed working with this hand tool. It's strong but light and the blades are really good, with different shapes which makes working with door or window profiles very easy. It's also easy to remove one blade and attach another. All you need is a flathead screwdriver. Unfortunately, after a few days and hours of use, the threaded metal housing simply fell out of the tool head. I've tried putting it back in, but it won't go all the way in. Now I

Seller sent used items

I originally ordered this scraper set on May 4th. It took forever to ship and when it finally arrived it was clearly used and abused (see first 4 photos). I complained and Revane agreed to send me another one. I said I wanted a NEW one but then again I got one which appears to have been opened and sent back (see last photo). The new one was opened and taped shut, but the first one didn't mock. I wrote a previous review but was told it could not be published. Maybe I complained too much. Let's…

All-purpose scraper feels good in the hand

PROS: Comfortable, non-slip handle with screw-on blades. Six extra-sharp reversible blades come in a collapsible plastic case for safe storage. Various blade shapes suitable for many profiles. There is a small file in the handle of the tool for restoring sharp edges. The tool is 8" long, each blade is 2-1/2" long and comes in different widths. CONS: Possible weak point where bolt protrudes from tool mounting surface. Both a strong metal screw and a small bolt are essential to prevent blade…

Not sharp out of the box - no problem.

They have a rough finish out of the box, but a sharp edge 1.) isn't really necessary unless you're really using a hand finish, and 2.) adds a TON to the cost. But this tool comes with a magnetic file in the handle. It's also crude, but works great. Steel on iron is good, but not perfect. It needs touching up regularly, more so than a carbide scraper (obviously), but it's 1.) much more reusable and 2.) can be fine-tuned to whatever you want to do. I can use the file to make a nice burr hook on…
