My son is 47 inches tall and weighs 55 pounds. wears 6-7 or 7-8 clothes. Size 5-6 says 6T on label. They were too big for him, loose in the waist and below the knees. But they are tied with rope to support them and last more than one season. Also bought 13-14 for my 16 year old because he liked them. He is 5 feet 4 inches tall, weighs 125 pounds and has very little body fat. They're also loose in the waist but true in length. Generally very happy with them.

My son wore them to the pool and after a few hours I noticed a very strange pattern of markings on his stomach. I had to take him to the ER and the doctor thought it might be a poison ivy attack. After about a day it went away but the next week the same thing happened. We found that the strings he wasn't tied were hitting him and causing problems. So either tie the strings or expect a potentially weird, unwise thing to happen. But in the end they are great!
