Returned 3 times!: Motorcycle & Powersports

I received 3 of these screws and had to return all 3! Every time I get one they come with a curved needle tip. Very cheap quality and obviously no quality control or any control whatsoever.

Pros
  • GOLS Certificate
Cons
  • Unfashionable

Must have product for carburetors

I have them on my 2004 Artic Cat 400 4x4 and my 2009 KLR 650 which makes tuning much easier. I recommend it to anyone who has an adjustment on the bottom of the carb near the bowl. This allows you to adjust the carburetor without having to remove it or even tilt it to get to the screw.

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Definitely bad product

Carburetor idle screw

The second one I've bought for a Harley 40mm CV carburetor. They removed the slot for a screwdriver. Now you need to put your hand behind the air filter to adjust it. It's easy to burn yourself on a hot engine. Should be a few inches longer. I soldered a piece of copper tubing to the corrugated end to add length. Still a good product but not as good as the old version.

Pros
  • Lots of positive emotions
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

Very convenient.: Parts

If you have a KLR 650 (my 2001) that needs to adjust the mixture as the weather changes this is a real life saver. Please do yourself a favor and stop getting in there with a wrench and one of those little detachable screwdriver heads. Shut up and buy it. My bike sometimes backfires. Reach down, small twist, no more play. With love, Mark.

Pros
  • Confident
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

A much needed item for motorcycles and strength athletes

The only thing I would like to improve on here is maybe cut a notch on one side. I used a triangular file to make a large groove on the curved nozzle. So I can tell without seeing how many times I've flipped it. But it's great. MUCH better than finding a tiny flathead and trying to stick it in a carb with a hot V Twin trying to melt your hand. Will definitely buy again for my next bike.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • Big and bulky

Fits perfectly.: Carburetor

Mixing screw appears to be a finely crafted part. The kit included a new spring, washer and O-ring. The upper part is surface machined on the knurled side. There is no marker to monitor the setting. I used a file to make a notch on one edge after inserting the screw so I could count the number of turns. I believe it is a brass alloy as it is fairly easy to work with small chips. It didn't feel like it would cut too easily, so considering the fact that it's a 'set it and forget it' sort of…

Better with a screwdriver.

Edit: September 9, 2020. Well worth the money. Equipped with a 1998 Sportster 1200 Custom with a stock CV Heihin carburetor. Before installing I recommend cleaning the part with brake cleaner prior to installation as I have had a small brass cartridge and some brass shavings in the threads since manufacture just to keep debris from getting in and clogging your injectors. No big deal, you should always inspect and/or clean each part thoroughly before installation. Also, they appear to be…

A critical review of a critical small part.

Mmm, let's try. Installed it in the CV carb of my 2000 Harley FXST Softail after changing the jet. The o-ring, washer and spring in the kit are actually very good, nicely separated in a small resale package. The packaging was actually pretty great, no bent tip of the set screw, not bent, it came in a small strong clear plastic tube nicely packaged in a small resealable bag. So the packaging and delivery came pretty quickly, there are no complaints. I'm concerned about the adjustment screw which
