change required!

The product had one downside: the magnets (2 near each corner of the flip cover) are not strong enough to prevent the correct size binoculars from falling out. I attached a denim button under the flap on the front of the bag. Then thread a piece of elastic through the inside of the valve cover and use a piece of leather to prevent the two knotted ends of the elastic from being pulled through the material of the valve. It worked perfectly, quieter than using velcro when hunting with a bow!

Pros
  • Top marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • There are more interesting options.

Quiet, wish it was an inch lower.

Love the matte finish and magnetic top. It keeps the enclosure quiet so you don't scare away wild animals. The width and depth are perfect but the height is a bit short for my Nikon Monarch 5 bino. The materials and workmanship appear to be of good quality. I haven't decided yet whether to keep them or not. Also, they work great with the Alpz companion pack, a bit more complicated than the Alpz Predator pack, but if I leave them I'll find a way. Alpz may want to look at molle attachments so…

Well made, if a bit small.

Surprisingly well made for this price. I cut off the ends of the straps and threaded them through the buckles so they could be tightened securely and the ends tucked back into the space in the back of the bag. He's pretty small. I put in a Vortex Diamondback HD 8x42 kit with lens caps and they just fit. I'll leave them there for a while and see if they loosen up a bit. It works well with the Pathfinder pack. The only improvements I would like are a little more room and a different set of straps

Pros
  • A lot of positive emotions
Cons
  • A little maintainability

Stretch your bag.

Lots of complaints about the snug fit of the bag. Problem solved! I put two (2) 20 ounce bottles of Gatorade in my bag and let them sit for three (3) days. This stretched the bag and now my binoculars go in and out with no problem. The magnetic latches lack the strength to hold the flap securely. I sewed a button an inch below the flap and attached a piece of cord to the flap. A few turns of the cord around the button and the problem is solved! Good value for money and I didn't have to spend…

Excellent quality, need something more

Excellent quality product, this is the norm for ALPS OutdoorZ! I use this with my chase kit which is also a new purchase. I have an older (5+ year old) Big Bear. The buckles have since been updated so the new items no longer fit the old ones. No problem, I contacted ALPS and they sent me new buckles for a fee that I attached to an old backpack. The Bino case is therefore suitable for both cases. On the other hand, as others have said. It's a small thing! An extra half inch in length and height,

  • Easy installation

  • Communication with seller

Creaks and creaks. Binoculars

The binocular case is good, but I'd happily spend the money on something like the RMEF Ridge Stalker X Harness. The case is quite small and fits my Leupold Yosemite 8x30 binoculars when I pull them out with a creak. If you have smooth-sided binoculars, this probably isn't a problem. Thought this would be a nice addition to my Pathfinder backpack, but it's really a hassle to take off/put on a backpack to drop/pick up your backpack when you want to move around a bit easier/quieter. Also, leave…

$70 Binoculars lost because of this bag

I bought this bag to carry my binoculars for hunting. The product was delivered as described, the binoculars fit perfectly in the case. The obvious problem with this case is that the magnetic latches that keep the case closed are easy to open. Shaking opens the valve and the contents can fall out of the case. To make matters worse, the soft fabric that makes up the case tends to get stuck in weeds. This happened to me while walking in the woods. The case lid got stuck on the thorns, the case…

Pros
  • New
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Good price, missing a few key features.

So I got the Big Bear Hunting Pack from the Alps. I got these because I liked not having to wear a completely separate strap to carry the binoculars. I have several Leupold McKenzies in size 10*42. i love magnets Convenient, just drop down and stay closed. And also for quick opening. I also love the price. The problems I had were actually three things.1. My binoculars are difficult to assemble and are one of the smallest in the Leupold range. I have to pull the lid down hard for the magnets to…
