Very loud! in my rating

As other reviewers have said, these shoes are very noisy when walking. They have a very comfortable and well-designed insole, like my solo climbers, but I can't live with the noise they make with each step; like the old galoshes we wore years ago, only worse! So I'm sending them back.

Pros
  • They are smaller than I thought and they are HOT. Not super comfortable in the summer.
Cons
  • Slightly susceptible to wear and tear

I bought a second pair

I have several Altra running shoes, I always buy the men's 7. I have an older winter version, it was heavier and bulkier, but I liked it. Then I bought this one. Although they are a bit smaller and slimmer for the size I usually buy, they fit like open gloves! They don't even look like hi-tops. I went straight out of the box to slushy snow. I bought a second pair.

Pros
  • Provides excellent shock absorption and reduces impact on joints and muscles.
Cons
  • Takes a long time to dry after cleaning

Second pair, last year

I love these shoes. Water resistance is fine. The waterproof ones run a little warmer, but not by much. Paired with socks, it's every backpacker's dream.

Pros
  • Built for excellent balance and stability on uneven terrain.
Cons
  • Fabric gets dirty easily

Light, wide toe and good grip

Have worn them hiking in the Adirondacks and Appalachians for many years. Great guarantee for travelers. perfect for ankle protection!

Pros
  • ideal as ankle protection
Cons
  • Inconsistent size

Wrong size in the toe area

The Lone Peak 5 are great, the wide size they make is too wide for me so the regular shoes are great for a size 11. Have the new Lone Peak with medium shoes and they are narrow in the toe and don't make it wide made. I'll bring them back and hope they can go back to their roots, big toed boots.

Pros
  • These are SO comfortable and perfect hiking shoes.
Cons
  • OK, loading.

Unique, very good, limited breathability

If you're looking for waterproof boots that are comfortable and don't pinch your toes, then these boots are for you. They support your heel to keep your foot secure and allow your toes to move freely without restriction. So far my feet have been dry. I've been looking for a shoe like this for years!

Pros
  • The well-ventilated design keeps feet cool and dry, reducing the risk of overheating and blistering.
Cons
  • Poor breathability leads to sweaty feet

Too tight for my taste

The sock is great as it should be but the part in front of the toe will endlessly squeeze your foot Painful shoes What's up altra?!?!

Pros
  • The all-weather design makes this shoe ideal for use in all conditions.
Cons
  • Too tight in the toe area

Brilliant balance in my review

This is my fourth pair of ALTRA and the best ever. Totally waterproof and surprisingly light, with some ankle support but not much. I use them for gym workouts, sidewalk walks, light jogs, and then heavy backpacking hikes in muddy, muddy terrain, as shown here. Sufficient cushioning and zero drop enable a feel for the ground and the right gear.

Pros
  • Built to last, with durable construction and quality materials
Cons
  • Poor water resistance

Bad...the best in my rating

I'm usually a big fan of Altra, but this product was a total let down. After just a few rides, the lace hook came off completely. I've never seen this in any shoes or boots I've ever owned. It is obvious that inferior materials are used, low quality, low durability. If something is "all weather”, it has to withstand loads. These don't stand a chance. Very disappointed.

Pros
  • Very convenient
Cons
  • Expensive price tag

Incredibly comfortable.

This is the first time I've owned a pair of flat shoes. When I first put them on and stood up, I literally lost my balance. It's literally one of the most comfortable running shoes I've ever owned. I can be on my feet for extended periods of time without fatigue and pain in my legs and lower back. Already looking to buy!

Pros
  • Offers excellent traction on a variety of surfaces
Cons
  • Bad smell after prolonged use

Tighter than expected

So it's a comfortable shoe, but I had to return it. As others have said, the toe box is smaller than my other altos. I think it's partly due to the harder material. They were a perfect width but my big toes kept pressing against the top of the shoe. All in all I would consider going a half size up if you want water resistance.

Pros
  • Turns out very small. Apart from this very light and well finished product
Cons
  • Poor quality material used in manufacture

Loud, thin sock

I usually love Altras. This is pretty much the only shoe I'll be wearing thanks to the wide toe box. But these shoes were terrible. It makes loud noise when walking and the toe box is not wide enough. Finally sent it back.

Pros
  • Lightweight yet durable. So comfortable for long walks.
Cons
  • Poor grip on wet surfaces

Like my opinion

I'm thankful that the company makes waterproof wide-toed boots. They looked much wider than the Astral shoes. One improvement I would add is to place the waterproof layer closer to the outside. The waterproof lining gets hot and sweaty when I sweat a little and warm feet when I move.

Pros
  • Roomy toe box accommodates a variety of foot shapes.
Cons
  • Tongue slipping during use

Altra shoe my verdict

Altra continues to live up to its reputation. My only complaint is that the 10-1/2 didn't fit perfectly like all of my other alts. For this show, you may need to go up a half size to get the perfect Altra fit that we know and expect. The insoles feel great. Excellent traction and water resistance! Improved off-road shoes. Satisfied!

Pros
  • Good fit, nice slim profile.
Cons
  • Too heavy to walk

Comfortable and waterproof

1st Ride Worn on a 17 mile hike. Mud, rain, snow, creek crossings. No leaks or problems, very comfortable. No blisters. A wide leg box helps with thicker socks for winter.

Pros
  • Designed with the natural shape of the foot to improve foot biomechanics and health.
Cons
  • Too tight at the ankle

squelch boat. good for me

The shoe can be felt on my foot. I like the sock in the shape of the foot. The only thing I don't like is that when walking, the shoe pops. It sucks when you have to drive the AT 35 to 40 miles.

Pros
  • Neutral cushioning offers a balanced ride for comfort and stability.
Cons
  • Causes blisters and hot spots

Amazing - my new review

With a delivery time of two days there were no problems. I love Altra as a brand and as a company. They make amazing products and these sneaker hybrids are no exception. I started my Altra journey with the Lone Peak 4 and fell in love with it instantly. The only thing that would make them better would be if they were waterproof. I first went for the Tushar boots which are very comfortable and durable but far from waterproof. I finally gave in and bought these. The very next day after receiving…

Pros
  • Good flexibility and freedom of movement for a natural feeling when walking or running
Cons
  • Limited ankle mobility due to the high-top design.

Works a little less.

Very convenient. Light and high-quality processing. Slightly smaller than the stated size. I have a pair of sneakers that are the same size and they fit perfectly. My fingers touch the toe of my boot. Ordered bigger, toes fit great, but now I have to wear thicker socks.

Pros
  • Offers a comfortable custom fit with easy lacing
Cons
  • Too stiff for natural movement

Amazing Shoes in Shoes

With nearly a dozen pairs of Altras in all different styles, it wasn't difficult to buy one for yourself. Last year he was running cross country in a pair of LP4.5s and he loved them so I bought him these for his summer camp stay where hiking shoes were a must. They're waterproof and have a nice lugged outsole, but are still light and flexible to wear all day without leg fatigue, which was a big plus. I've had the LP4 RSM for 2 years which he really likes but they're no longer on sale so he…

Pros
  • Still Satisfied
Cons
  • Too Stupid

Shoes exfoliate best when walking

I bought boots especially for Philmont's hike. Outsole and toe split after 63 miles. All the demands of the weather are not true at all. As I walked through the wet meadow, my feet got wet. I would not recommend this shoe.

Pros
  • A sea of positive emotions
Cons
  • I'll write later
