Waste of money on sculptor consumables

Too runny for epoxy cups, pours like water, the only good thing that could be easily removed from the cups.

Pros
  • GOLS certified
Cons
  • boring packaging

Go to Resin Pen Blank

Excellent resin pen blank. Easy to mix in a 1:1 ratio. It shines very well after twisting the handle and mixes easily with mica powder.

Pros
  • Easy Installation
Cons
  • Modern

Not at all clear as water

If you are looking for a water clear resin this is not for you. What a waste of money. Not only is it not clear, but it's more bubbly than anything I've used. It does not accept paint powders or liquids and reacts poorly to inclusions.

Pros
  • Impressive
Cons
  • Difficult to say

HORRIBLE RESIN

I mixed the resin exactly according to the instructions and still got a white haze. I even used a pressure pot and it was just awful. Also, for some reason my casts would sometimes start bubbling AFTER being demoulded. I called Alumilite, they didn't find a solution to the problem. This brand of resin also gave me an allergic reaction that I have not had with any other brand of resin. Wouldn't recommend this product at all.

Pros
  • 32 oz. - 2 parts
Cons
  • piggy bank Price

is the water clean Not as much.

Don't let the name fool you. Nothing in this product is transparent to water. I have used several brands of resin and this brand leaves the most bubbles I have ever seen. Mix thoroughly and pour slowly. I can see bubbles bursting and the first time I pour them they look clear. After curing, the last piece is filled with bubbles. If you just want a piece of resin that hardens quickly, go for it. I will give But if you want "pure water," try something else.

Pros
  • Demoulding time 2-3 hours
Cons
  • Flimsy

Contracts/renewals and nothing for inexperienced users.

Hard to tell if it expanded or contracted or both, but the jar I tried to fill with it kept breaking/cracking, whether it was glass or plastic. I degassed the resin at over 80psi under vacuum prior to mixing and pouring and could not get a bubble/crack free cure result. I am aware of the resin allergy precautions required when working with some resins and this is definitely one of them. I made the mistake of touching my face and developed a rash that lasted about a week on all my arms and…

Pros
  • Crystal clear resin
Cons
  • Out of fashion
