Nice little detail!: External components

Overall I'm happy with this little DVD burner. When I connected it to the netbook, my computer recognized it immediately. However, sometimes it wouldn't recognize the recording device, and that could only be a bug on the netbook's part. Also, I have to close the tray very tightly for it to snap into place, otherwise I would give it 5 stars. Once it starts it's very, very fast. I ripped over 100 CDs in 2 days and stored them on my computer. It does the job! For what I needed it was perfect…

Doesn't work on Mac OSX 10.6.4

Bought and it didn't work on any of the Macs in our house. I went to their support site and there is no information at all on this particular product. Email sent to support, no response. I tried to contact support via chat but nobody is there. Failed.

Pros
  • Sleek design
Cons
  • is embarrassing

Works well/as expected

Drive worked first time. Used it for both reading and writing on multiple systems and had no problems. The only downside, if you can call it that, is that the dongle/cable is a bit fiddly to use, but since there's no wall lugging around I'm happy to accept an exchange. Oh, and since it's a little cheap, it's a little pricey, but oh well.

Pros
  • New to my collection
Cons
  • Some minor things

Compact and inexpensive.

Most notebooks come without internal drives to reduce weight and size. I used this drive for my daughter who needs to create media drives for school otherwise we would just use adapters/USB sticks. The price was right on my budget - plug and play. Other discs were more expensive, almost twice as expensive!

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Sad packaging

Good product! for CD and DVD drives

I have four cars at home and none of them have a DVD burner. I was thinking of buying that. After reading so many reviews I had little concerns about this product as some people complained that it didn't work in some cases. But I've already burned about 50 DVDs and no problems so far. Works great!

Pros
  • There's something in there
Cons
  • Quality
