Very good, very well constructed speaker cable

While I'm sure there are audiophiles who will argue, I think this stuff is amazing. It has just enough (but not too much) insulation that I'm comfortable pulling it through walls. Got it through the wall and outside to hook up some speakers to the 100w Sony amp we use with our AppleTV so we can play music on the porch. The wire is good and thick, easy to work with, and the coil is not too big. Otherwise the price is right.

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Expensive

Good choice if you don't need 100% copper

It's not real copper, but doesn't claim to be. Considering that, it's actually a pretty decent cable. It is very flexible and easy to work with. If you're okay with the limitations of copper-clad aluminum (because you don't work as long, or have conductors that are too big, or just don't want to pay for 100% copper), then it's really nice to work with. The insulation is soft and flexible and there is a clearly visible black line on the cable for the negative conductor. If it were pure OFCโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

Decent speaker cable for non-critical settings

I needed a speaker cable after realizing the cable was missing from the Grace digital amplifier I had bought. This cable was recommended and I found it sounded better with a smaller amp than my heavier cables. I was positively surprised. For some applications, the base is more than sufficient. The wire bends and removes easily so you can route it around furniture, through windows, under rugs and more when setting up a temporary listening station for a social event, seminar or dinner. I thinkโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Available in black only

If you need more than that, don't even read this.

It is exactly what it should be, a good value consumer speaker cable. We use it to connect our 15 year old consumer amp to our vintage consumer speakers to play music and movie audio. Tracks are streamed over the internet at whatever data rate our connection currently supports. Loudspeakers are placed on any flat surface we can find, in any arrangement that gives us a semblance of stereo and "surround sound", in a living room where "acoustic" takes a back seat "so that we don't notice anythingโ€ฆ

Pros
  • High marks for support and durability from testers
Cons
  • The list will be long.

Exactly what I needed at a great price.

I'm a little surprised that I'm drawn to the brand name with the word "Basic". But as with every other RevainBasics product I've purchased, I continue to find good quality products at good prices. After buying a new receiver I decided to stick with my original speakers and rather than try to reuse old cables from a different one. I thought I'd do a clean install with a new cable. I was delighted to see RevainBasics Wire. I can't claim to have a trained ear, nor do I have any audiophile gearโ€ฆ

Pros
  • speaker cable
Cons
  • boring packaging

Respectable. gauge 16? Of course; but over AWG17 64/35 CCA.

"Gauge" is a fairly vague term, usually used to differentiate stranded from solid wire. AWG is a more accurate specification and this specification is not listed for this product. It's probably fair to call it 16 gauge, but at least from my measurements it's probably 17AWG 64/35 CCA. I've noticed that others here have had similar results. I've seen someone claim their cross sectional area was half the stated cross sectional area from their measurements. I definitely didn't find that. I wouldโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Electronics
Cons
  • There are other interesting options.
