Two in a row failed for the same reason.

This is the second of these cases that I have ordered and returned to Revain. Both for the same reason. They didn't even turn on right out of the box. Now I ask for a loan and look for another building.

Pros
  • Easy to install
Cons
  • Generally fine, but...

More landfill is crap

Should have checked earlier. Switched HDD to SSD a few months ago, wanted to use old HDD for backup. I bought it because I thought it would work. It's not like this. It's a piece of shit. It's very cheaply made. The power button seems to fall off. The build quality is like that of a gumball machine. Connected and the case turns on and off. It doesn't even stay on long enough for the computer to recognize the drive. Should have stayed with my Antec HDD enclosure which is larger but has worked…

Legally the computer is corrupted and I was able to use this thing

Look folks I never saw the inside of a computer until my 2007 electronic porn store blew up. After opening the old car, I pulled out the HD and ordered this small one. Together with him, they sent instructions, which I immediately burned, preferring to solve the problem myself. Almost effortlessly, I was able to hook this thing up to my new computer and extract all of my old and extremely important files with literally no training. If your device blew up and you need to dig out your old hard…

Posts are lies. for computer accessories and peripherals

What a POS! Works fine on PC, but setting it up for Xbox One x, you might say it sucks. D. Randomly sees a 2TB 3.5" data drive in the system. Follow the Microsoft.com installation instructions for more than one installation of Ext hd for Xbox One x. Failed , sees the drive and then just throws an error. Buy Best Buy 3.5" data enclosure. I put in the data cd and bam installed everything I needed. The post saying it works must be lucky as it comes with SATA 1TB as an ext backup works on all my…

EZ for setup and installation

To get used to my all-metal external hard drive, this case is thinner than I expected, but that's the difference between getting used to metal. This is enough to protect the drive. This is a simple enclosure for a 3.5" SATA hard drive - essentially a tool-free solution: just open the enclosure, insert the drive and close the enclosure. Ready. After connecting to On My Computer (MBAir) it launched DiskUtility as it couldn't see the drive but it was a new drive that needed formatting. The format…

Mech, definitely the best used

Needed on short notice and picked for the price but didn't expect it to be SO cheaply built. The back cover is only held by two clips and rails on the side, it can come off if you lift the device at all. Also, there is NOTHING to hold the hard drive except for the cover and the SATA connector. Clamps on the sides or at the opposite end are useful for this. From the looks of it, you definitely don't want to stand it upright with the cover off (the drive will fall out or possibly the connector…

Pros
  • Looking forward to
Cons
  • Almost never

Design: This case is very easy to use and the tool-free design makes it very easy to swap different hard drives - -- almost like dock station. The only oddity is that the design appears to be upside down. The most reasonable placement for this case would be lid up, but the text printed on this case suggests the lid is down, which is very odd. The plastic is ok although I prefer the metal body. Quality: Pros: 1. Supports large capacity drives very well. Tested with a 6 TB hard drive, no problem.

Pros
  • Handy item

  • So far so good

Simple, well made, great price

I bought five sets of 3.5 inch cases. I recently replaced my internal drives with SSDs so it's great to be able to reuse my old drives as backups etc. If/when five packs sell for less than $50 that's a crazy price There'll still be great ones Cases and good for the price but I can't go crazy. and buy five packs unless I really need all five. An external power supply is a great feature, as USB often doesn't have enough power to safely and stably run older 3.5-inch drives. The power supply…
