Couldn't be happier

I bought a customer return to save a few bucks. Some reviews reported terrible results and I was a little nervous. The manufacturer cannot develop a design for every application. Everything is pretty standard for me, so I took a chance. I have a new Dell Latitude laptop with Windows 10 and an old Gateway Dual VGA/DVI LCD monitor. This worked without any problems on a VGA port with 1440 x 900. As soon as I connected the device without connecting the VGA cable, the laptop beeped, recognized the…

Works but you need to make it work

It worked but ONLY after I powered it on via USB micro. I have a dual monitor setup, with KVM on one of the monitors, which is a VGA port. Since my graphics card only has one VGA connector and the rest are HDMI, DVI and Displayport, I have one monitor on VGA and the other on HDMI. Their colors don't match, so I decided to use the VGA connector on both. hence the adapter. Without USB power, both monitors keep turning on, off, then on and off. So I had to find an older micro USB cable and use a…

NOT for connecting an old VGA computer to an HDMI monitor

There are so many different ways to connect a display these days that it can be very difficult to choose an adapter from the many adapters on the market. This adapter is used to connect the HDMI output of a computer or other device to a monitor that only has a VGA input. The reverse will NOT work, you cannot connect an old PC's VGA output to an HDMI monitor with this one. All connectors are suitable, but the signal does not go in that direction. It only transmits the signal from the HDMI side…

Worked well for about 3 months with intermittent use

I bought this adapter to use with an old monitor that only has VGA and DVI connectors. I wanted to be able to use both ports so that two devices - my PC and my work MacBook Pro - were always connected to the monitor without having to unplug cables (I never used my PC and MBP at the same time, so it was fine). that they shared a monitor). Unfortunately, the adapter stopped working after about 3 months of occasional use. It's not an expensive adapter, but when I have to buy a new one every 3…
