Enhanced Amazon Basics Surge Protector with Wall-Mount, 6 Outlets and 1080 Joules Review

Worst thing I've ever bought! In just a week of use, a lamp, a cell phone and a laptop, it burned out and almost shorted out at home.

About a month later, the extension cord just stopped working when just a lamp and a tablet were plugged in. This block does not have a reset button. Wouldn't buy again.

The description says it has an on/off button which was the deciding factor for me between this brand and another. NO SWITCH! It may be a good surge protector, but an inaccurate description describing a feature that doesn't actually exist deserves that 1 star.

I'll be back. The product description does not state that you must use it with a medium shield outlet (older models), but according to the instructions/important precautions this device must be used and screwed into a medium screw outlet. (I've seen other reviews where they don't screw it in and some reviews say it doesn't work. Maybe that's why.)

I bought this to replace a surge arrester I've had for over 20 years. The old one had no light and I didn't know if it still worked. And since it was protecting an expensive espresso machine, I figured the expense was worth it. LED lighting for "Protected" and "Grounded" gives you peace of mind. Being LED, lights should work for quite a long time. 6 sockets are also very practical for the kitchen table.

This was in a plastic bag that wasn't sealed and I think the screw/bolt must have slipped out during packing as it wasn't included. It needs a screw so it doesn't come loose from the wall every time you unplug something, and the short one that comes with the original socket cover isn't long enough to reach the end.
