Before using this frying pan, I read the cleaning and use instructions three times to make sure it will be of great use to me. After one use and wiping down the next day, rust started to form. We continued as the instructions said and no luck. Too troublesome to clean and keep dry to avoid rust. The pan on my gas stove didn't get very hot either. Very dissatisfied with this purchase.

This is a standard, run-of-the-mill cast iron grill and pre-seasoned pan. It is suitable for use with gas, electricity or open fire. Totally worth the price - heats evenly (if you even know how to work with cast iron you know you need to let it warm up a bit before using it on low-medium heat), holds heat well and seasoning works well enough, especially if you add some veggies or butter right before cooking. Disappointing design. I was looking for a simple flat pan. It's intentionally tilted from the center to drain all the fat from your food, like a George Foreman grill. So even a small amount of oil that is put in the pan falls immediately into the groove. So you can only cook in a dry pan. It doesn't make any sense to me. I bought this 4 burner Viking cooktop pan after an aluminum coated pan we had for years was ruined after leaving a bag of pasta on it and turning on the wrong burner. Oops.
