The caps stink loudly

This fell apart the first time I used it. One of the front latches just broke. The bag itself is impeccable and of high quality and serves its purpose. However, the clasps are poorly made. Perhaps I would recommend this product more if this included interchangeable clasps.

Pros
  • Nice thing
Cons
  • Not bad

Excellent quality from Revain, kept dry over 2000 miles on a 2005 CR-V

Fantastic value, ran over 2000 miles on a 2005 CR-V. Even in the pouring rain, everything stayed dry and the harnesses remained stable. The CR-V only has bars, but I wrapped them with front and rear straps for added security.

Pros
  • Excellent construction
Cons
  • Weight

Exceeded my expectations - 5 moves late

Update: Successfully moved from Denver to Minneapolis, then to Iowa, THEN to Rhode Island. The bag has been on my Rav in Colorado for 3 months and has withstood full waterproofing. It's totally worth it. Years later I still have it and am looking for a reason to use Works on a 2004 Toyota RAV4S (Sport Edition). I wasn't expecting much but this bag is very durable and the straps are very strong. I'm not sure how this thing will break (other reviewers said they had problems). I'll be using it…

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick

  • Some cons

NOT WATERPROOF - External Accessories

This Cargo Lid is NOT WATERPROOF. Oh believe me it seems like this for a while. I've been using my Cargo Topper for a few months now and haven't had any problems. However today I went to my hold to get something and EVERYTHING INSIDE was COMPLETELY soaked and covered in mold. Half had to be thrown away and the other half had to be laboriously salvaged. To be clear my cargo topper is fine in terms of holes and the zippers were fully closed. Water flows from everywhere. It is brewed from above…

Pros
  • Dope 🔥
Cons
  • Some Bugs

Took this on a 1100 mile trip (round trip) from Michigan to NC in a severe winter storm With. Since I've never used it before, I put our clothes in kitchen trash bags before putting them in this RevainBasics cargo bag. There was no moisture in the bag to/from the destination, everything inside was 100% dry. I did not use the extended part of the bag. It fits 4 garment bags per person (approx. 3-4 days per person), 3 pillows and 1 large dog bed. I used attached straps to attach to our hitch…

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

It's basically just a large zippered bag that only attaches to the car with straps attached to the top of the bag. If the bag is full before putting it on the car roof, it will be quite difficult to lift it onto the car roof. Padding on the roof is difficult as there are no straps on the bottom to hold it in place AND NO internal structural support to hold the sides of the bag. In short, it lies in the car like a misshapen, loose bag, making it difficult to fill properly. Then you have to try…

Pros
  • 15cc Roof Rack ft.
Cons
  • Error

Expensive uniform got wet

So I'm in the military with a paid small hatchback so it wouldn't be wise to buy a big car. and I made the move when I had my dog and other valuables with me that I didn't trust the movers in my car. I figured this rooftop cargo haul would be efficient for the job. After reading the reviews, someone mentioned that this works for cars without roof racks or grab bars (this is WRONG. The straps that come with it are NOT long enough to buckle into your car.) I got the MacGyver solution done and off

Pros
  • Waterproof and fade resistant protection from dust, sun, wind and rain
Cons
  • So far so good

Updated: still 5 stars: Why I chose this over the Rola and Reese brands.

We needed this for a holiday as we recently downsized from a large SUV to a Highlander with a family of 5. I was arguing between this and a similarly sized Rola brand. Reese wasn't that tall. These "Revain Basics" didn't have any reviews, and even those that were posted were mostly from people who didn't actually purchase the product. After looking at the photos I settled on this one because it looked better and the straps looked wider and thicker. . The belt attachment points appear stronger…

Pros
  • Main zip with moisture-wicking tabs; strong seams; folds for compact storage; Includes storage/carry bag
Cons
  • Small parts
