📱 Amazon Basics Universal Smartphone Holder: Reliable Car Dashboard Mount Review

Although this phone holder is listed as universal, it has probably not been tested for most car dashboards. I have to lower the steering wheel to an uncomfortable level to attach this phone holder. Worse still, it's not very well regulated. The hand that connects to the bracket is fixed. It would be better if this could be adjusted. For this price range this can still be a good phone mount if it fits your car so I recommend ordering and testing it yourself. YMMV.

The diagram does not adequately describe how to mount the clamp. You need to completely unscrew the knurled knob, slip it over the ball, insert the ball into the hole, and then tighten the knurled knob. The clip doesn't put enough pressure on the sides of my iPhone 8 to prevent it from slipping out easily. Would be great if it held up the dashboard better and didn't spit out my phone when the road is rough. Better grips would help, but the biggest weakness is the crappy spring inside. The dash part is almost fine, the clip works decently but the stuff just doesn't have enough grip so it gradually shifts off the stand side.
