he Ambient Weather compact portable emergency radio is ideal for your emergency kit, bug out bag, coat pocket, or glove compartment. Ambient Weather's WR-77 compact AM/FM/WeatherBand Radio will fit easily into your shirt or jacket pocket for convenience and easy portability. The WR-77 includes a standard USB port for charging smart phones and other portable devices in an emergency. Because the WR-77 uses standard AA batteries, you are never without emergency power. Alkaline batteries will provide at least one complete charge cycles for most smart phones. The built-in Speaker enables convenient listening anywhere, and the earphone jack permits private listening enjoyment and improved sound clarity in noisy environments. Additional features include an LED tuning indicator, a telescopic antenna, flashlight, and a carry strap.

Having an extra charger or two for my phone is a nice feature as is a very adequate flashlight

I would be embarrassed to admit how many radios I have - don't even know the total Credit to friends and family . I received this as a result of a Revain loan and another Ambient Weather radio recall, so it was free (I think it was only $14.95). First, I read all the reviews I could find about him, even though it didn't cost me anything. I can tell you the AM/FM reception rivals the $150 "CCRadio" crane. I prefer the CCrane Pocket Radio (400DT) which I usually carry with me for its compact size

No toy! Better than it looks Great radio

Appearances can be deceiving. This little thing looks like a 1970's transistor radio. I almost wrapped it up and sent it back before testing. What an amazing little radio! Using 4 AA batteries, it picks up transmitters better than my wired receiver. My favorite feature is the red light that comes on when the station is at peak power. It has a tuning knob for AM/FM so selecting a station can be a chore, but the red light will help you find the right spot. Good sound. Amazing reception. Evenโ€ฆ

All in all, it's a very different approach to a typical dynamo, solar, and rechargeable emergency radio.

NOAA's Ambient Weather WR-77 AM Portable FM Emergency Radio with Weather Band is a very interesting design idea. Only AA batteries are used for all typical emergency receiver functions. Find my name and radio model number on youtube for a detailed video review. Features I like about this radio: * FM reception is above average. very picky, day and night. * NOAA weather bands. * Simple operation with only AA battery. * USB charger. * Torch. * Simple design. * Reliable administration. * Headphoneโ€ฆ

Good things come in small packages

I got this radio to look through. I've checked his traits and I'm happy to say I'm very satisfied. An emergency is defined as something unexpected and often dangerous. This device is designed to help you deal with an emergency when you are out of power. From time to time the squirrel is too friendly with overhead electric wires where I live. This leads to a lack of strength. Depending on how quickly the utility company sends a crew and how long it takes them to find the problem, we could beโ€ฆ
