Region issue in Security & Surveillance

I could not change the country or region when setting up the NVR. The language was English, so everything was ok. In general, the device is good. I would recommend buying this product. After setting up the device, I found that the movement works perfectly. It's good to have a fan in the unit, but it's noisy. I'll live with it.

Pros
  • Great for a small home
Cons
  • Good but not great

All my previous problems solved. I love Amcrest!

I had problems with my previous NVR not recording due to limited bandwidth. This NVR has everything I need and more for each expansion. Screens load quickly and I can view and record 4K. I would recommend this NVR to anyone looking to add more than just a few cameras.

Pros
  • Best
Cons
  • A newer model could have been chosen

Amcrest is a good choice for NVRs and IP cameras

I've been using Amcrest for almost five years now. NVRs are simple and intuitive for those of us in business, and application is easy for low-tech end users. sometimes doesn't work.

Pros
  • good thing
Cons
  • speed

As advertised, good for CCTV gear

Everything was easy to set up... but the difference between 4 stars and 5 stars is in the details. This time there were no screws to secure the hard drive. I'm not sure who got it wrong, AMCREST or the HD provider, but the lack of dime hardware hampers the whole setup. At the moment everything works as expected, adding cameras was not difficult, so everything is fine.

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Good overall but...

Easy to install and use. beautiful interface

love it! Easy setup, beautiful interface. We installed it on our 55" TV in the living room so we can switch sources at any time and see what's happening. Amcrest has a great support site with lots of articles and videos. I had several questions. which I emailed to them. Response received within 24 hours. Now I have bought 5 Amcrest cameras and this NVR and am very happy with the system.

Pros
  • trial period for one year
Cons
  • disappearance

Failed after 5 weeks

HDMI port failed after 5 weeks. bad connection. It's not the cable, I've tried 3 different ones. The video sometimes works when I move the cable in the plug. Getting an RMA for a replacement seems difficult. The tech support number is supposed to go to their website and fill out a form. but the form says you need to call tech support to get the code. I also have other cameras that have been replaced because they started to work very slowly. I ended up calling tech support about a slow non-POE…

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Updates

I don't know why it gets good reviews

To be honest I don't understand why people give this NVR good reviews. The user interface is clunky and looks like it's from 1985. It's a bit concerning that they have an input device (mouse) and no remote control or anything really useful. It's not easy to set up like people have said. I'm a software developer and I'm having trouble initializing the cameras. I know everything about different protocols and ports. So it's not like I'm walking into these blind ones. I used an open source software

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • Not everything fits

Great Value NVR

I've tried many different NVRs and this one is by far the best value. It lacks some of Hikvision's high-end features, but at a fraction of the cost. I have found this to be the best NVR for the money if you use it for personal use and not for large businesses. Initially, I had some trouble sending events via email. After a long phone call with Amcrest, a tech support representative informed me that their devices currently only work with Yahoo email accounts. Set up email address and it worked…

Pros
  • Enjoyable
Cons
  • Legacy Model
