Maybe I got a bad one?

My tip is immediately blackened by oxidation and is not wetted with solder. My other Hakko attachments work great and last over a year with daily use. Not sure what's wrong with them.

Pros
  • GOLS certificate
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging

Good advice. - Spares and accessories

Matches my Hakko 880 perfectly. Tried my hand at surface soldering and my smallest tip was a chisel tip. it worked, but not like this. This is the perfect solution, very accurate and easy to use. I highly recommend it if you want to do surface mount things.

Pros
  • Nice to use
Cons
  • Some nuances

Product as described, good quality

This is a good tip but not for rework or anything involving high temp soldering on a thick PCB. It's not really the tip's fault, but the type of iron that uses this tip isn't the best at maintaining a consistent temperature like those that have a heating element built into the tip.

Pros
  • good item
Cons
  • poorly thought out

High quality, durable

I ordered a product for my uncle who works in an electrical company. He really liked the product and asked me to order 2 more for his friend. He said because the product was made in Japan, it is therefore much better than the products his company supplies from China. Recommended by my uncle.

Pros
  • Few competitors
Cons
  • Negative exists

Good advice. Works well. Hakko is quality. Excellent purchase.

Excellent soldering iron tip. It works very well and I had 0 problems. I had a chisel tip that came with my Hakko fx888d. That was fine on its own, but when I'm working with tiny electronics (like headphone boards) I need something smaller. It melts solder and is very good for small areas. Highly recommended. I use lead free solder around 700 degrees Fahrenheit.

Pros
  • nice little thing
Cons
  • I don't remember but there was something

Great tip for soldering in hard-to-reach places.

This Hakko tip transfers really concentrated heat for small soldering jobs. Ideal for the Hakko digital soldering station. I used this specifically to re-solder the connector on a DJI Phantom Drone. It really is better than the general purpose handpiece that comes with a station for soldering small joints in tight spaces. I was surprised at how well it transports and concentrates heat. A drop of flux and a quick touch of this tip made excellent solder joints.

Pros
  • Delivery was very quick
Cons
  • Crumpled
