💇 Amika 3D Volume & Thickening Shampoo: Boost Your Hair's Volume and Thickness! Review

Not only does this product work great, it smells AMAZING! I wish this company made shower gel because I wish I could smell it all the time! But the shampoo cleans and foams very well! I bought this because I asked my hairstylist what she uses to make my hair look and smell so good and she said this along with Kenra Blonde Conditioner is what she swears by!

I was excited to try this product after receiving a sample from Sephora. Like many other reviewers, I found my hair was a little too clean and a little dry after using it. It also didn't have the volume I got from the Sephora sample. The shampoo is ok but the price is too high for this quality.

Honest. I love Amika's signature shampoo, but this volume and thickness shampoo was terrible! It didn't wash out of my hair at all, once my hair dried a horrible oily wax formed on my hair. I couldn't run my fingers through my hair without having to wash it afterwards because it was so greasy. My hair wouldn't last a day if it didn't look like it needed washing and hair usually lasts around 4 days. I have very fine 3a/3b hair and was hoping to get more volume with this shampoo - and it did! But it also relaxes my curls in a kind of weak, sad way every time I use it. I don't know how to explain the effect exactly, but I can't combat it with styling products - using it relaxes my curls in a very unsightly way. On the plus side, it smells great. And it really gave me volume, which is why I get stars for what's on the bottle.

I absolutely hate this shampoo and conditioner. The air conditioning is definitely the worst of the two. It makes my hair waxy, tangled and tousled. It's effective for adding volume to my flat, straight hair, but not at the price I'm willing to pay. I will continue to do this until my upcoming salon visit and then purchase a new product.
