Wi-Fi in my house wasn't very good considering where my router and even Wi-Fi adapters/bridges are located. I decided to connect my home to an Ethernet network with Cat 7 cables and used compatible adapters in all rooms. I didn't run any tests to see if they were better than Cat 6 as my house never had an ethernet connection so I decided to upgrade from Cat 1 to Cat 7. Obviously a wired connection is better. No complaints!

Almost all overlays you will find in a store or online use legacy Cat5 connectors. That generation is behind us, and if you're installing for the long term, installing old technology equipment will create bottlenecks for your Ethernet network in the future. Why spend hundreds of dollars on high speed routers, new Cat7 or Cat8 cables and then limit them to old connectors? Easy to install. Cut well. I was thrilled to get a faster connection (wired) on my desk. The only problem was that the connector had play when the cable was inserted and I ended up having to take it out and replace it as I kept losing connection.
