Great distance access point

This is a great product. I've used the Airport Express before and it's been success or failure. Outside, 300 feet to garage. On the opposite wall of the garage [behind an outlet] is a Hawking HAW2R1 with network and Wi-Fi. Three important tuning elements: 1. The aim is important - point it in the right direction and then fine-tune the signal with small turns2. Switch to N only and 20MHz channel width for better range3. Disable the DHCP server - you connect the network, so in most cases it is…

Affordable problem solving, save money

I bought a repeater for my home from this company a few years ago and remembered good phone maintenance so I called and described my expansion goal to the Fios connection from one building to another across the street for newly rented premises to avoid the need for a second paid connection - and received very clear guidance and product recommendations. For $250 for this device that "broadcasts" the signal, with an SR10000 picking it up and amplifying it throughout the new office, we save about…

Useless over 150 feet

I spent about 40 hours trying to get this to work and never got around to it. I know I'm crazy for wasting so much time, but two devices failed - one was DOA and the other a few hours later - and I had to keep reinstalling and realigning everything to make sure my install wasn't working. Treason. I also bought an external antenna for this unit and it didn't seem to make a difference. I was trying to send a signal to my business - about 200 feet line of sight in the middle of a 50 acre lot in…

Tie-break - there are disadvantages.

Before buying this WAP (Wireless Access Point) I read all the previous reviews but I still took a risk. and I shouldn't have done it. This is not the best product primarily due to poor quality control. I bought two of these. One device didn't work right away while the other worked, but with inconsistent results. Specifically, during testing, the working unit was able to stream Netflix in HD from 1/8 mile away, but was once installed on a rooftop (5 meters high). ) the range inexplicably dropped

Pros
  • Pleasant to use
Cons
  • So-so

Waste of time and money

This product does not spread the WiFi signal further than a standard WiFi router. I couldn't even get it and the SR600EX to work together to about 500 feet, which is far less than the 1.5 miles it could supposedly reach in ideal conditions. Amped Wireless Elite Support will tell you their business hours, but they never answer the phone during these hours.

Pros
  • Always liked
Cons
  • Negative gift
