Superb pastel boards

Ideal for pastel drawings. The texture is nice and I think they will work for other environments too.

I've found that if I paint with a pastel I don't like, I can wash the board off with warm water.

When I first started working with soft pastels I tried paper first but couldn't get the results I wanted. I've even tried sandpaper but was frustrated because it's difficult to store and needs to be assembled for framing. With ampersand pastels I can put them on the studio shelves and frame them when they're done. I've discovered another benefit: if I'm painting with a pastel color I don't like, I can wash the panel with warm water and a soft sponge so I don't ruin the sanded surface. You may…

Very hard and workable surface

This is a great surface to work with. You can use both strong and delicate pastel colors. The board's surefooted stability provides the support you need to ensure your work doesn't slip as you work fast to capture the moment. This board is great for outdoor work. I don't recommend working on this cardstock without support from underneath, but I never had to pin it down like I do with other pastel cardstock and papers.
