Longevity is not a strength

Works great, but the lifespan is below average. The average lifespan of a lightbulb is one month. The microscope (Olympus BX41) isn't left on for long, so it's surprising that the bulb burns out sooner than the bulbs we've used in the past.

Pros
  • Halogen lamps
Cons
  • Non-automatic

burned out after only 3 hours of use - be careful!

I bought this product to replace the lamp in my laboratory optical microscope. I bought it in August 2016 and in the last 4 months the bulb has been used for a maximum of 3 hours, but yesterday (January 2017) it burned out. That's a terrible lifespan considering my previous lamp lasted 4 years with the same level of use. I'm not going to be that generic lightbulb anymore and recommend sticking with the brand name if you need one too.

Pros
  • Tools and household items
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for the elderly
