Terrible Microscope Calibration Tool for Electronics

This calibration tool is simply awful. The digital interface is clunky and hard to use, and the results are unreliable. The only good thing about it is that it comes with a nice carrying case. The downside is that you'll never want to use it again, even if you're working with electronics.

Pros
  • Accurate digital calibration for microscope measurements
Cons
  • Requires compatible software for full functionality

Works great but pixels can burn.

I highly recommend getting a telescopic camera to have more fun in microscopic experiments, especially if you share it with children. The software works well and images can be viewed in real time. My complaint about this camera (two of them with the same problem) is that there are many (over 100) hot pixels on the CCD. You can find Hot Pixels if you don't know what they are.

Pros
  • camera and photo
Cons
  • protection

Terrible frame rate even at the lowest resolution

After hours of tweaking and trying different lighting options, I've come to the conclusion that this camera is only for stills and zoomed out microscope views. Once I zoom in close enough to see the pads on the phone's circuit board, the auto exposure drops the frame rate below 6 fps. Setting up without "Auto Exposure" also failed because. After setting the exposure, I zoomed in, everything is clear, but when I zoom in it's almost completely dark and the frame rate is ridiculously slow. So this

Pros
  • Compound Binocular Microscopes
Cons
  • So far so good
