It's so cheap, thin, soft plastic that it curls up with the simple pushing force you have to use to get it off the jack. I found that the only way to make them usable was to epoxidize them before bolting them on.

I have a lot of soldering experience but as other users have said if one of the leads gets hot enough to melt the solder the insulator is already destroyed. I even went so far as to tin the leads and let everything cool completely before attaching the tinned wire. When the job was done, all of the connectors spun freely on the crumpled insulator, resulting in an intermittent connection. If you need a reliable connection, look elsewhere. I should have listened to other reviewers.
