After asking Nest to develop a wall mount for this product for almost a year, I finally found this little gem. I ordered immediately and just completed the installation. I am absolutely amazed at how great it looks and how easy it is to install. Took me about 10 minutes and the result is exactly what I was hoping for. Great product and I can only recommend it. I installed this and encountered many problems, none of which were the fault of the product. I cut the hole with a carbide hole saw. I built the base into the wall and connected the power to the outlet in the basement. I used clear liquid nail sealant to attach the bracket to the wall. Holds up much better than double sided tape. I think it's a big disadvantage that Google/Nest haven't figured out how to wall mount their product. I wanted a keyboard in my hallway that didn't have a shelf or flat surface to put a nest guard on. For a year it has been taped to the wall as shown in my drawing.
