Excellent quality and appearance

This is a great option for worn and wobbly clutches. Mine wasn't free enough to use, maybe it will come in handy in a few years. Thus, it is better than many others that are clearly add-ons. It merges and nobody notices. I highly recommend this product.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Useless Features

Prepare well for cargo handling

I had to drill holes for the set screws as this anti rattle product works when I tow my boat. Then the play in the clutch returns. I also see that after six months of using my small well cargo trailer the flat pieces of metal that go into the receiver are almost rubbed in half and so the slop will return.

  • Great for a small home

Better than the competition

I understand it should be versatile but the fit could be better - it's too big and you'll have to loosen the set screws a bit to keep it from wobbling. The pads don't want to go in at first, but once you start and hit them with a hammer, they don't go anywhere. I would give it three stars because it's a little pricey, not the best design but maybe five stars compared to other versions. I bought a more conventional "anti-shake" record and quickly sent it back to find it didn't do anything at…

Great product if your mount fits - will rust

Great idea but may not fit your mount. My Curt receiver and current mount didn't have enough room for this spanner. I will be using it on a Pro Series rear rack that seems to take a few beatings. To be honest I will never buy a spanner that requires wrench removal, so it's a good idea if you have a longer bracket than me. Update: I bought a direct ball mount (weld on) and it slides great. Removes 100% play from the retainer and most importantly, unlike other clutch tensioners, it can be…

Didn't fit too narrow wedge too thick

Great concept but it didn't fit. Insufficient clearance between tongue body and trailer ball shaft assembly. This prevented the ball joint from fully engaging the hitch (other than allowing me to line up the holes to insert the locking pin. I even tried applying a bit more force with a small sledgehammer, but to no avail. I was worried that if I had to used a lot of force that i will never get the ball joint out or worse i will rip the housing on the hitch.I got this at the last minute before…

Bug - doesn't even work with the hitch's own receiver.

I bought a GenY hitch receiver and I'm delighted. However, this is my third GenY purchase and like the second, it was a flop. As you can see in the photo the spacers are on the top and one on the side. To tighten my own coupler in my receiver, I need one that has washers on top and bottom, not on the side. The next attempt was to tighten my Smittybilt clutch. This was also a mistake as the set screws are so short that they couldn't be unscrewed long enough to attach them to the step. Also, it's
