The standard filter was replaced with these and when we turned the system back on we had about 1 minute to flush the line to remove carbon from the system and clean the water. . Maybe a bad filter, maybe normal, but everything has been clear since then, time will tell

We've had a few that were wrapped in charcoal and some leaked through. They work very well. There is some sulfur in our water, no smell of the hot water at all, and no black deposits in the sinks and bathtubs. Bought several times and hope to keep getting them.

I have been using these filters in my home for almost two years now. I have well water and have recently invested in water quality improvement equipment. These filters are an important part of the process. They do an excellent job of trapping impurities in the water. The costs are great. Very good value.

After purchasing the filtration system I had trouble locating it. My local Lowes have stopped wearing them. They work very well for us, filtering out debris and helping to remove iron from the water. We are located by a well and we have filters in front of our water softener to prevent sediment from entering the system.

Before I put the water in the pipe, I let the water run through the filter for about 5 minutes. When I turned on the water, carbon dust covered the secondary filter and couldn't be removed. I took out the charcoal filter and ran water through the charcoal filter for another 5 minutes before placing it in line with the new secondary filter. Water turned on, same result. I will not buy it again nor will I recommend it.

Love that I got two of these for the price I paid for just one Dupont! Works as well or better than Dupont (I was able to get 3 months of odor reduction with a Dupont activated carbon block). In addition, it has an additional filter fabric on the outside of the carbon block.
