Base not flat: sanding blocks

The grip is not comfortable, but the main disadvantage is that the base is not flat but slightly convex. Wet sanding a flat surface will not give you a good, consistent edge-to-edge finish.

Pros
  • Ideal for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Not sure

Nice but small handle.

It works well. The only drawback is that the handle is too small for me. The edges are slightly rough and feel scratched. But I still like using it, it's better than holding sandpaper in your hands.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Contact seller

A little bit dangerous.

This worked, but it's also not that secure. There is an exposed nail on each end that I use to cut my thumb. This is the kind of grinder you get for very small jobs. But invest in a better one if you're making more than just an end table.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Some errors

Exactly what you need

As an old carpenter I have tried many different blocks or hand grinders. This is the best I've used. If you're weak, don't complain that the clamps are stiff and don't whine that the pins in the clamps hurt your hand. It's a lightweight, flat tool and with the right sandpaper it becomes the grinder you will always turn to. If you're complaining about this grinder, don't use tools.

Pros
  • Certified
Cons
  • Doubtful

Doesn't hold sandpaper effectively causing paper to come out and tear apart

"Clamps" are useless, they don't hold sandpaper in place - paper comes out and tears rendering it unusable. I've used 320 wet sandpaper on a flat surface with ZERO positive results. Using it lasted longer than using a flat piece of oak wood with sandpaper wrapped around it by hand, with better results. Save your money on these guys - keep looking!

  • Free for educational use
Cons
  • Quality

Good grinding wheel. fits sanding blocks

This sanding pad is convenient to use. It doesn't need a 1/3 sheet of sandpaper, it only needs 10 1/2 inches, otherwise it gets along very well with the rest of the sheet. I had problems with paperclips. My fingers keep slipping when trying to detach or insert the paper. It was also very difficult to open. I believe the last two conditions are related to my age (70+) and fine sanding dust. Overall I think this is a good product.

Pros
  • This is amazing
Cons
  • I really don't like anything, everything is fine

Continuous. Good size to fit sanding blocks

I like it. The clips make changing paper faster and easier, and the clips themselves are durable. The handle is soft, which makes it comfortable to hold. I use standard sheets of sandpaper cut into three pieces, each piece fits this sander with a 1/16" overlap on the sides and about 1" left for trimming at the end. These sizes are good for holding the paper. I will buy another once I lose this one or the foam on the grip wears out. For the first few months it was solid after about 50 hours of…

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Great design but the glue stuck to the foam pad

5 stars for the design. Comfortable grip, large size, soft base and easy secure attachment of sandpaper. The problem lies in the imprecise application of the foam. The glue used was smeared on the bottom of the styrofoam, it was actually glued to the bag it was in. The droplets of cured glue are big enough that they can scratch and dent the paper when I'm trying to do something good. finish grinding on this one. I'll try to remove it with a solvent but I don't know if it will dissolve the foam.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Poor instructions

quality product. On time delivery. Great value for money

I bought 6 of these for kids. Our organization (Sleep In Heavenly Peace) makes bunk beds out of logs and then supplies them to children who don't have them. We have "build days" where we meet with community members, groups, organizations, etc. and build beds. We love it when family comes and kids sometimes don't feel comfortable with our power tools. Enter hand sanding pads. Judging by other reviews I doubted the quality, especially the glue spilling on the pad. I have not experienced this…
