Two years later still in use.

No problems with this part after installation. Access to replacing this part required removing the rear door inner panels from the inside before you could unlock the door and open the sunroof. Bad design by GM.

Pros
  • Absolutely amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...

worked one day, looked like it was.

Worked for a day, looked like it was already installed. Sent back for a refund. Bit the bullet and bought the Dorman brand. month works without problems. There's a reason it was so cheap.

Pros
  • Plus Only
Cons
  • Doing

Don't buy this. for spare parts

This part no longer worked the next day after I installed it. And as a GM tech, he's installed door lock actuators at dealerships for years, so nobody's better qualified to install one. It's garbage. Don't waste money. It doesn't deserve a single star.

Pros
  • complete set
Cons
  • empty

Simple fix to a dumb problem

I don't know why GM chose not to put a key on my Suburban's tailgate, but it was a simple fix once I opened it. Watch YouTube videos on opening closed and locked overhead gates from the inside. Once you enter, simply change it with a screwdriver.

Pros
  • Great choice
Cons
  • So So

Dorman 1st ordered. held for 1.5 years. .

Dorman 1st ordered. Served 1.5 years. I ordered this one. Took 6 months. I think I'll spend $60 a year to open the tailgate. OK. To update. This lasted almost 2 years! Ordered the 4th. Took 10 days. Ordered 3-9-19. Stopped working 3-18-19

Pros
  • Stable results during test
Cons
  • You could choose a newer model

Error and no exchange possible

Failed in less than 30 days. The return option is the worst. 1 if you clear to return you now have an unlockable SUV. 2, Our local store did the install for $99. They couldn't get us to withdraw $99 before the short refund window closed. It would be nice to send a replacement so I can get RnR and then send back the defective unit.

Pros
  • Many will do
Cons
  • Some difficulties

having a few issues with this part

Bought and it worked about 2 days before my tailgate fuse blew. I replaced the fuse and it blew again. I contacted the seller and I have to say the customer service was excellent and they offered to send me a replacement part as the first one was defective and they had several complaints about a blown fuse. However, the replacement part that was sent only lasted about 24 hours before it stopped working. The back door doesn't open at all.

Pros
  • Very good price
Cons
  • Unbelievable price
