Something so small but worth every penny.

This part is one of those things you don't realize its value until you go to the grocery store because you can't start your car. The item is very small, about the size of a coin. But it is extremely important to return home. This is a DYI installation type. Lots of installation videos on YouTube. I installed it on my 2008 Nissan Xterra after 150,000 miles. So it is after you understand the importance of returning home. Evacuation + loss of work + waiting time = not good. I would recommend if…

Overpriced little plastic case but still the best option

Yes it's very overpriced for a tiny plastic case but you only have 2 other less desirable options. (1) Pay a lot more for the whole shifter cable. and do a lot more work to install it under the truck. (2) Tape the cord back to the switch, or some other MacGyver method, and hope it holds so you don't get stuck on fast food for an hour. - through again. If you can find this tiny plastic jack cheaper somewhere else then congratulations, but I've looked everywhere and ended up here again. It…

Pros
  • Absolute Legend
Cons
  • Clarity

After figuring out how to fit it and removing the protective steel plate it was easy to replace. I was offered $700 to replace the shift cable. I had a temporary solution using zip ties and then weed eater nylon. It's a bit ridiculous, it was $30, but compared to the alternatives of temporary stagnation where temporary repairs broke or paying the store to do it, it was undoubtedly a bargain. I tried watching the video but couldn't figure out which way to turn the device when it's plugged in…

Expensive for this part but a good deal compared to other options

Yes, the part is tiny and should cost 65 cents. But for my 2008 Pathfinder, the shifter cable was $50 and would have required a lot more work and more work under the car. Shipping to a workshop costs at least $200. So $28 with next-day delivery via Prime was a steal. It took 5 minutes to remove the Pathfinder console and remove the retaining clip on the shifter cable - this should have made it more accessible. It took about 5 minutes to mount the bushing on the bare gear cable with a tool. The…

Exactly as promised

Received this particular product in part because I saw a YouTube video of the APDTY guy fixing a Titan of the same year/model as mine that had the exact same issue, at nothing happened when I shifted from park to shift, except that the shifter moved too loosely. I removed the center console following his instructions and found that of course the transmission cable was no longer where it should have been and all that was left of the old socket was a small piece which was crumbling. as soon as i…
