Good buy at Industrial Electrical

This switch looks very well built. It served my purpose as a forward/reverse switch for my Atlas lathe. I really hope the "nylon" core holds up. So far the switch is fantastic and works really well. Large clamps and screws are great for securing connectors or soldered wires. I like the big button that selects direction at the end of the switch. This button makes it easy to change direction without looking at the switch.

Pros
  • Industrial Electrical
Cons
  • Some bugs

WHY didn't I buy this sooner?

After foolishly welding not one, but TWO inverters in my van, I decided I needed to get a little smarter. This thing is perfect. You'll have to do some jumpers between the output terminals, but the end result is you just can't fry ANYTHING. The cool thing is that since you can connect both the inverter and shore power at the same time, you can make the switch between the two fast enough that you don't lose all your clocks and 110V settings, not even my AC unit care.

Pros
  • Industrial Switch
Cons
  • Not sure

rated for 60 amps but housing too small for 6 AWG wire

I was hoping to use this switch as a generator selector switch in my well. I wanted to switch the input power between the grid and the generator in the event of a power failure. The switch itself seems to work fine, but there are a few issues with this block. The wire terminals are AWG 6, but you MUST fan the wire on either side of the terminal screw or they will loosen and fall out. No matter how hard you spin them. It is physically impossible to reinsert hard and heavy AWG 6 wires into aโ€ฆ

Pros
  • selector switch
Cons
  • something else
