Ordered with damaged packaging but works great

I ordered this from Revain as an item with slightly damaged packaging. I took a chance because it was a great deal and I have to admit the 'damage' to the item box was hardly a dent. The adapter itself was not damaged in any way. I use it to connect my kid's mini iPad to a virtual school computer monitor and it works great. It can be connected to both a monitor and a charger, so I don't have to worry about the iPad's battery.

Pros
  • Done
Cons
  • High price

it's just good old friendly Apple neighborhood

I was helping set up a system at a church where they needed to connect an iPad to a VGA input projector. Enable this and you will not be able to view ripped movies or content on this projector or VGA input display. It's not this adapter's fault, though. it's just plain old Apple neighborhood. I bet it works if you send the output through the Apple TV. Just say =J Anyway, this adapter works great and I love that it can be charged while in use.

Great for working from home

I'm a psychiatrist, treating patients remotely from my home office. I use my iPhone as a camera and interface to communicate with patients, and through my iPad Air I connect to a Windows computer in the clinic office to access email, the medical records system, etc. I struggled to read the small picture. Voila! I bought an inexpensive monitor (used) plus this adapter and now I don't strain my eyes. No cheap accessories. I couldn't find a cheap copy for this, but I bought similar adapters to…

Expensive and almost useless

My son has the required iPad for 8th grade but it will be completely removed for 8 weeks starting next week. We bought this adapter so he wouldn't keep staring at his small iPad screen. Unfortunately (and this doesn't necessarily have to do with the product) the iPad doesn't have the functionality that we were hoping for. All the iPad can do is mirror what's on the iPad screen - it can't extend or act as a second monitor when the iPad screen is in use. Apple is aware of this, but is happy to…

***UPDATE*** DOES NOT WORK WITH STREAM! I just bought a new VGA adapter because I can't find my other one. I tried to watch a movie through a projector with a VGA cable (as I have done in the past and it worked great!), now we couldn't watch the movie because this device is no longer compatible with Prime Video . Hey You Tube worked but I didn't try to rent a movie through You Tube. That's why I was able to watch movie trailers on Prime Video, but I couldn't actually see the movie. I don't want
