I like that it doesn't even recognize it until the correct code is entered. Combine that with BitLocker encryption and you have a hard-to-hack USB drive and essentially two layers of security. The only downside is that it gets pretty hot. I'm not sure yet how this will affect the lifespan. This product heats up quickly. I'm guessing maybe that's because the chip is encapsulated inside with epoxy for extra safety by slowing heat dissipation, or maybe all USB drives get that hot (this is my first flash drive). One of the few FIPS 140-2 Level 3 Certified USB 3 Drives available I have had no problems with this drive or the old product version. (I had an older version of about a year and a half, this product a few months.) For a secure flash drive, this seems pretty fast - no slower than a standard good quality "unsecured" USB3 drive.
