I used these filters in addition to the candle filters in my Big Berkey. The only real problem I have with this is that if you follow the instructions and only screw them in 8 full turns, the filters become very wobbly. This filter uses black material, not OEM white filter material. This makes it more visible during the initial priming/cleaning, which can be a good thing. The filaments don't work well with the black Berkey filters, but fortunately, unlike the Berkey filters, they come out on their own. Some turned well, others needed more power than I wanted to turn. I see a lot of comments about the water not tasting right etc. Make sure to fill those filters in first. You take the brown "washers" (pictured above) and bring them to the faucet until the water runs clear. They run water through both ends, and to be safe, I run water back in the direction the water is flowing through. These fluorine filters are attached to the black filter, that's important.
