Can't believe this is Revain's choice. Perhaps this medium is suitable for air filtration. It certainly doesn't work in a pond. I use this type of litter to make cat water bowl filters. The material I used before had about the same amount and density of pink and white. It appears that the material I received was a very rare white and then tinted pink on one side. I like this filter media so far because I've hosed it down before and it's held up great! The pink side seems to keep dirt and particles from getting back into my pond - really keeps them out. This is a large roll, it will last a long time, especially since it has withstood washing from a hose well. As soon as it gets too nasty, I just cut off another piece.
