Ideal tarp for overnight trips

I used this tarp on a recent overnight trip. The tarpaulin is so light that you hardly feel the weight of your backpack. I can recommend it to anyone who doesn't want to lug a tent along for short hikes. There was a splash on my last hike and when I woke up the next day there was no water in the tarpaulin. Great tarp for every day, light and looks well made. If I run into any problems in the future I'll post them in this review, but so far so good!

The backpacks are small, strong, light and versatile.

Strong, light and versatile. It's surprisingly compact. When first used it was badly damaged by very bad weather. I set it up in anticipation of a storm, back to the wind, center line of the ridge, tie it to the ground on the windward side, tie some guy lines to the higher points and the slide line to avoid jams. The tarpaulin survived the weather unscathed. Doesn't leak despite heavy rain. I particularly like the many loops on the seams. This means the tarpaulin can be made any size and shape…

Good balance of weight and strength

I'm a backpacker and I have a hard time finding the balance between weight and durability. This product comes as close as possible. I almost bought a lighter tarp from a competitor but I'm glad I didn't. And I like the muted color. In the forest it is much easier on the eye and less intrusive to others who might otherwise see it from afar. I bought it to use as an emergency shelter for long day hikes and as a kitchen shelter for trekking in questionable weather. Haven't used it for any purpose…

Heavy weight for Strong

Arrived quickly as expected. quality production. Used it on a 2 day AT hike in Maryland, it rained day 1, put it in diamond configuration, stayed dry, no leaks in the seams or anywhere on the tarp. The second day was cold and windy, so that night I set it up in a square storm configuration with multiple shock cord tensioners. He stayed the night teaching and no tears or other signs of stress. The only wish is that there are more stretch marks along the ridge and on the sides (not on the edges…

This is a top product!

This is the highest quality product! After using a very heavy 16mm camping tarp, this item is a godsend. It is very light, durable and waterproof. We bought it mainly to use as a sunshade and to keep our picnic table dry when camping (e.g. car camping) and it works great. Around the perimeter and one in the middle are very reliable nylon straps. There are no eyelets to tear out. It also comes with those very nice "Y" shaped nylon straps with a buckle in the middle and some nice pegs. This…

Can make or break a hike.

A night hike in Tennessee in April should see the rain stop and temperatures in the 40s. Well, it didn't work out as planned. We had snow and sleet on the 5 mile hike to the campground. We must have had wet wood on site and just bad conditions. We quickly stretched this tarpaulin on the landing, put a few chairs under it and made a small fire on a flat stone under the tarpaulin. As soon as the fire broke out we picked up the rock and pushed it back a few feet, until then it didn't matter how…

Fantastic product! on tents and shelters

I bought this tarp for a backyard party when Mother Nature threatened (and brought!) a rain forecast. The tarp arrived on time and was neatly packed in a duffel bag the size of a pair of men's boots. I'm a former Association External Instructor so I know a good outdoor product when I see one and this tarp met and exceeded my expectations! It is very light so I was able to handle it well despite its size. And despite the light fabric, it didn't let a drop of rain through, although a little rain…

Excellent tarpaulin. Excellent customer service.

This tarp is amazing. It will endure a lot. I've kept mine open all winter to keep out the wind and retain some of my heat while smoking (I know I know I need to quit). He endured a lot. I have experienced zero leaks. All ties are sewn very well and can withstand a lot. Unfortunately, where the sewing machine skipped a seam, there should be a pin hole along the seam line. My tarp tore right where the hole should have been. , along the seam. I was afraid that I would have problems with the…
