It works as advertised but does not remove fluoride from the water.

Moen filters are expensive now. But I can understand why the lower cost. The filter has coconut charcoal to filter the water, but it claims it doesn't remove fluoride from the water and isn't sure if it filters out cryptosporidia and other bacteria or chlorine in the water.

Matches the Moen 9001 water filter exactly, but cheaper!

The Aquacrest 9001 water filter is a perfect match for the OEM Moen 9001 Pure Touch AquaSuite MicroTech 9000 water filter system. At first I was concerned that it would become more difficult to install with modifications over time, but I didn't have any problems. The water tastes just as good, but at a much lower price. Would recommend to anyone who hates paying big bucks for OEM products.

Pros
  • Comfortable to use
Cons
  • Long delivery time

Returned as inefficient

Glad to save some money, I tried the Aquaquest filter as a replacement for the Moen filter I usually use. For me, the difference was day and night, in a bad way. The AquaQuest didn't seem to do anything - it was installed correctly, but the water came out of the faucet as if it weren't there, and the water tasted the same as without the filter. In comparison, the Moen brand slows release due to actual filtration and conditioned flavor. I returned Aquaquest after trying it for over a week.

It flows faster but doesn't taste as good

I saw a question asking about "increased flow" it flows MUCH faster than Moen filters. It also doesn't eliminate all bad taste, meaning it does filter, but not as well as Moen. This is a compromise. My family uses it for cooking and the occasional drink, to get a vitamin, or because someone is too lazy to get bottled water from the garage fridge. It's a lot better than tap water but nowhere near as good as the Moen filters we've been using for at least 7 years. Again, this is good but cannot…

Pros
  • Stylish and modern design
Cons
  • Nothing

AQUACREST filter for Moen 9001 is useless and does not do the job

I have previously bought cheap replacements for other manufacturers' extremely expensive Moen filters and they seemed to work well. When I saw this AQUACREST filter at Revain I bought two because they were about half the price of the original filter. When first installed, the filter seemed to work fine and the water seemed clean and odorless. After using this filter for two months we started getting white particles in the water. They look like dandruff. They float around and eventually settle…
